  • Is it possible to book a single night?
We ask that our guests book a minimum of two nights to get the most out of the experience. All our seasons offer different experiences on our site. However, we do allow one night's stay when there is availability between bookings. We have an additional cleaning fee of $25.00 to reserve the night. Please contact us by email or phone to book your night of interest, as our reservation system will not allow you to do so online.
  • What is the arrival and departure time of our stay?
Arrival time to your dome is from 4.00 p.m. Please advise us if you will be arriving later than 8.00 p.m. Departure time from your dome is before 11:00.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Since we are a small business, we require full payment for your stay at the time of booking in order to better serve all our guests. Only full payment confirms your stay with us. Cancellations are possible more than 14 days before the arrival date to receive a full refund of your stay. If you have an unforeseen event after 14 days notice, please contact us and if we are able to sell your reservation, we will give you a credit for another stay. No refunds for "no shows" (clients who do not show up on the day of arrival). If you wish to change the dates of your stay, please contact us at least 14 days before your arrival so that we can accommodate you as best as possible.
  • What is included in the price of the stay?
The price of your stay includes access to the wood-fired hot tub and Big Green Egg barbecue on your private patio. A seasonal outdoor shower is available on your patio. Your bedding and towels are included with your stay. You will need to bring beach towels, as our towels will not leave your dome site. The domes all have a private bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink and mirror. The kitchen is well equipped to cook for you (two stove rings, toaster oven) and includes all the cooking utensils right down to the wine glass. We have vegetable oil and salt and pepper for cooking. There is also a (7.5 cu. ft.) fridge/freezer which will suit people with a longer stay. There is an indoor and outdoor dining table and an outdoor hammock facing the sea. All domes have a mezzanine to allow for comfortable star gazing.
  • Are pets allowed?
We allow dogs in one dome, La Perle de Lune, a 2 bedroom dome. A cleaning fee of $28.00 is charged to bring one dog and $38.00 for two dogs. One or two dog beds are included for your stay (along with a leash, bowls and a ball), as we do not allow pets on the sofa or beds. Dogs that are good with the public are welcome at the Hub when kept on a leash! :) Come and have a good beer with your best friend! *Pets must be supervised at all times and on a lead when on our site. If you leave the Cielo site, please bring your dog with you, as they are not allowed alone in the dome. Animals can become stressed when in a new environment and are more likely to bark or destroy materials. If you really want to leave your pet alone, you can bring a cage to make them feel more comfortable. We ask that all pet waste be picked up and disposed of properly * Please respect our policy! :)
  • Is there a hot tub at each dome? Are they functional in winter?
Yes and yes! All hot tubs are wood fired and private on your dome patio. When temperatures are below freezing, it will be important to maintain your fire until your hot tub reaches a bathing temperature, to avoid freezing of the pipes and thus avoid stove breakage. We will maintain your fire until you arrive, but our team is also available if you are having trouble getting your fire going.
  • Can we book more than one dome?
Yes, it is possible to book more than one dome. The entire site has 7 queen size beds, for a maximum of 14 people.
  • What should we bring for our stay?
We have a local food shop on site to stock up on food for your stay and we are 5 minutes from downtown Shippagan where there are two grocery shops, two pharmacies and three convenience stores if you prefer to do your grocery shopping once you arrive in the Acadian Peninsula. Other than your personal belongings, don't forget your swimming costume for the hot tub and beach towels if needed. Although you will be warm in your Pearl, bring clothes to match the temperature to enjoy the outdoor environment of your dome.
  • Is there Wi-Fi at the Cielo site?
Our guests have access to Wi-Fi in The Hub, our reception area. There is no Wi-Fi in the domes, as we recommend our guests to disconnect during their stay at Cielo ;) Phone calls work throughout the site.
  • How do I get to the Cielo website?
Cielo's address is 232 Oyster Road, Haut-Shippagan, New Brunswick, postal code E8S 2N7.
  • Where does the name Cielo come from?
Cielo means "sky" in Spanish, the phonetics being reminiscent of the sky and water, Cielo inspires the concept of the site. The sky represents the skylights present in each Pearl in order to see the stars at night from the mezzanines. The water represents the large bay window that allows you to see the sea during the day from the dome. We have nicknamed our domes Pearls, because of their shape, but also because we are in the path of the Oysters. Moreover, the famous Mallet Oysters are cultivated in the Baie St-Simon, the bay that faces our Pearls.
